5 Marks of Love:
Living Life Marked as Christ's Own

Are you yearning to be part of the change that this world needs?? In the midst of a world that at times feels marked only by hatred and division, we are called to live into our identity as those who belong to Christ – who in baptism have been “sealed by the Holy Spirit” and “marked as Christ’s own forever.”

This five-week series offers an opportunity to observe and reflect on ways in which Christ’s love expresses itself in and through us; in our lives, in our faith communities and in the world around us. This series is inspired by Anglicanism’s 5 Marks of Mission.  These are “marks” or “signs” of God’s creative love that are evident in our lives and in the world today.  We will be exploring one of the “marks” each week, with guidance through short videos, and by drawing on our own understandings and experiences.  We will look at how each mark of love can be nurtured in ourselves, and how we might recognize and join with that mark of love when we meet it in the world around us.

The Marks of Love are not simply a list of tasks to be checked off.  Instead they are signs of a life rooted and grounded in the Being of God. The Brothers of the Society of Saint John the Evangelist (SSJE) have helped to develop this series, and draw on their own monastic spirituality to help us find a balance between contemplation and action – so that our words and deeds proceed from the deepest places of our hearts, where God dwells.
