Supporting the Congolese Family
On August 17, 2016, a family of nine (Mom & Dad and seven sons) made the first step of their new life out of a refugee camp in Rwanda as they arrived in Richmond.  St. Thomas leads the coordinated effort of a group of Episcopal Churches who are working as their new neighbors in a world that is totally foreign to them - not just in language but in all the details of what is to us "regular" life in the USA.  Imagine the culture shock of our new friends! Just watch this video about what their life has been like.  Many thanks to the volunteers from St. Thomas who have donated furniture and helped this family set up their new home, and now offer visits and friendship on a daily basis.
